What No Longer Needs to Be Explained

elder Feb 04, 2026

There was a time when explanation felt necessary.

Not because I lacked clarity, but because I assumed it was required.

I learned how to soften edges.
How to add context.
How to meet misunderstanding halfway.

It took effort to stay interpretable.
To translate what was already known into something more acceptable.

That season has passed.

Not in defiance.
Not in withdrawal.
Simply in completion.

Some things announce themselves without sound.
Some truths don’t benefit from rehearsal.

I notice now how explanation subtly asks for agreement.
How it negotiates with doubt before doubt has even arrived.

So I let understanding find its own pace.

Those who recognize what’s present do not need help.
Those who don’t are not behind.

Nothing is being hidden.
Nothing is being proven.

This isn’t silence.
It’s accuracy.

What remains doesn’t require reinforcement.
It stands whether it’s acknowledged or not.

And that is enough.
